LabHQ Product Roadmap: Upcoming LIMS Features for 2026
What We’re Building at LabHQ – And Why
As we head into the new year, we’re sharing an overview of what we’re building next at LabHQ and where the product is heading over the coming quarters.
The roadmap gives a simple view of what’s coming up, shaped by real lab requirements and our customer feedback. It’s intended as a guide rather than a guarantee, and priorities may change as plans develop.

Our focus for early 2026:
Our upcoming releases focus on reducing manual effort and improving visibility, particularly in areas that affect audits, stock control and daily decision-making in the lab.
Clear Lab Dashboard
We’re introducing a new lab management dashboard to give lab managers and QC teams a clearer overview of key information, without needing to jump between pages or export data, building on reporting and dashboards in LabHQ.
This should make it easier to spot issues early, track progress and stay in control as workloads increase.
Stock Management Updates
Several improvements are planned to improve stock accuracy, including:
- Track wasted stock
- Reductions for stock corrections
- Daily stock overview notification for expired stock batches
These updates are intended to help labs reduce waste, avoid last-minute issues and maintain confidence in their inventory data, building on stock management in LabHQ.
Customisable Sample Labels
Customisable sample labels will give labs greater control over how samples are identified and tracked, making it easier to align labels with existing workflows and traceability requirement, as part of sample management in LabHQ.
App Rebrand
Alongside functional changes, the main LabHQ app will also be refreshed to improve consistency and user experience across the platform.
Looking further ahead
Beyond Q1, the roadmap continues to focus on reducing complexity in lab operations:
- Q2 2026 – Sample barcodes and improved new-user onboarding to reduce manual set up and training time, building on sample management in LabHQ.
- Q3 2026 – Scheduler for recurring sampling, maintenance and reminders, alongside Equipment Management updates, supporting more proactive lab management
- Q4 2026 – Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN) functionality and further stock enhancements, helping centralise records and reduce reliance on disconnected tools.
Built with our Users
For labs considering a LIMS, understanding where a platform is heading can be just as important as what it offers today.
Many of the items on this roadmap come directly from conversations with lab managers, quality teams and operations managers using LabHQ day to day.
If you have a feature request or want to influence what we build next, you can share feedback directly through the in-app feedback form.
We’ll keep this page updated as plans develop and share updates as features move from roadmap to release through our regular product updates.
If you’d like to explore whether LabHQ is the right fit for your lab now, or have questions about upcoming functionality, we’re always happy to chat.
