LabHQ Q3 Product Update: What’s New This Quarter

Each quarter, we release new features and improvements to make LabHQ simpler, faster and more compliant for your lab. Here’s a summary of what’s new in our Q3 2025 update, which went live on 30th September.

Highlights from this release:

  • External users can now submit jobs directly through the portal - complete with product selection, sample details, test suites, and automated job IDs. This makes external collaboration faster, clearer, and traceable from the start.

Why it matters: Less manual admin, fewer errors, and full traceability of external users showing who submitted what.

  • Faster results entry with CSV import
    • Results can now be uploaded directly from a CSV or via the API - permissions, mappings, and a full audit trail built in.

Why it matters: Faster data entry, fewer mistakes, and smoother integrations with other lab systems.

  • Consistency in product-specific certificate generation
    • Configure default sample certificate templates per product. Sample certificates can now be generated automatically based on the product being tested, keeping reporting consistent and saving time locating the right templates.
  • Clearer audit trails
    • See the full audit history for any single sample with sample-specific audit trail view - no more digging through wider system logs.

Why it matters: Better visibility and easier traceability during reviews or audits.

  • Improved sample receipt
    • Specifications now need to be confirmed when samples are received - helping prevent oversight and reducing compliance risk.
  • Smarter portal usability
    • Custom date fields now automatically match the user’s browser locale - so international external users see dates in the right format.
  • Stock module foundations
    • We’ve introduced Stock Categories (Reagents, Consumables, Standards, Equipment). This groundwork prepares for the upcoming Stock Management Module to be introduced.

Coming soon: New Stock Module

In our validation environment, you can already see features like:

  • Stock item templates for faster booking-in
  • Minimum stock thresholds with alerts for low/out of stock
  • Full stock batch management (receive stock, track status, record consumption, audit trail)
  • Real-time inventory dashboard and expiry tracking

These features will roll out to production in the next quarterly release.
